Vintages 2007 - REVIEWS
ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE "A First Class Wine" 92 pts Results Released March 2010 Jay Miller |
The 2007 Shiraz Goose Yard Block is a glass-coating opaque purple color. It emits a splendid aromatic array of mineral, earth notes, espresso, Asian spices, plum, and blueberry. Not quite as rich as last year's version because of the challenging vintage conditions, it is still a first-class Shiraz that will offer a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2022. |

CAMPBELL MATTINSON Results Released August 2009 GOOSE-YARD BLOCK 2007 |
Goose-yard Block 2007 Schubert Estate makes a big, traditional Barossa shiraz and more often than not does it in fine style. Very cuddly, Indeed, It's all chocolatey and velvety, saturated with plum-like flavour and thick across your tongue. There's a mandarine-like character here that works well too. Warm through the finish - too much so - but generally within the boundaries of the style. Tarry and stewy but I wouldn't say that it lacked brightness. Tuck it away for a few years and then serve it in a big glass. Rated 92 points: for details refer to Wine Front.www.winefront.com.au. |
