Lone Goose

The Lone Goose Shiraz Viognier 2008

Beautifully fragrant, tautly structured and displaying exceptional fruit purity the 2006 Lone Goose is an example of fastidious farming at its finest.
Jet black, with a dense purple rim and mirror-like sheen, the wines deep-set aromatics indicate the sheer density and concentration with notes of Parfait Armour, rose petals and pipe smoke giving way to an underbelly of black currants, melted tar and peppercorns.
Although immensely concentrated the palate has so much grace and fruit sweetness that one could miss the depth and latent richness beneath. A precise spine of acidity and silken tannins give the wine a satin-like texture and although its youthful charms can be enjoyed upon release, will greatly benefit from a few years in a cool cellar.  Screwcap Closure.

The Gosling Shiraz 2008

Inky black with crimson hues, the 2008 Gosling Shiraz offers a deep, dark, brooding nose with traces of smoke, charcoal and cedar giving way to loads of blackberry and roasted herbs.
The full bodied palate is well delineated and loaded with rich black fruits, mocha roast, kirsch and subtle hints of silken French oak.
Velvety tannins ensure a long, cuddly, sofa-like finish making the wine thoroughly enjoyable in its youth and ideally suited to a cool winters evening and a generous serve of game.

Goose-yard

Goose-yard Block Shiraz 2008

Possessing a dense, saturated purple/crimson hue the 2008 Goose-yard Block Shiraz displays the concentration, poise and elegance that only the greatest of terroirs can achieve.
With a powerful bouquet this wine also holds weight; its finesse and intent are both immediately apparent with delicate scents of wild blackberries, acacia flowers, slate and vanilla bean all contributing their subtle nuances.
The palate offers tremendous texture and combines glorious fruit purity with subtle notes of saddle leather, baked earth, melted liquorice and white truffles. Multi-dimensional and incredibly intricate the wine finishes with a cloak of beautifully ripe tannins that seem as comfortable and pure as a handshake with Steve Schubert himself. This stylish wine will undoubtedly reward those with patience.
